RAGE

Released this past fall RAGE is one of the best first person shooters I've played! I really liked the co-op missions as well as the hard ass campaign. Made by id Software this game is the winner of more than 20 E3 Awards such as Game Critics Award winner, Best of E3 Award winner and more! It's available on XBOX 360, PS3 and Games for Windows. RAGE has been rated with an overall 9.0!

The graphics are good, and the uniqueness is great! RAGE is about the future as per id, and it's a mix between futuristic and the old west. There aren't really any alien guns, just the standard pistol, double barrel shot gun, assault rifle etc. However, keeping it fun and interesting they have made upgrades to the weapons such as the mind control arrows for crossbow and pop rockets for the shot gun. You also collect things like gears and such throughout the game to either sell or create new weapons, bandages etc. such as the sentry turret and the RC bomb car.

In the campaign your character awakens from a cryogenic sleep to find an asteroid has impacted Earth. With the planet devastated and horrific mutants roaming the destroyed and abandoned cities  you come across interesting characters and tasks to try to rebuild humanity and beat the mutants. The campaign has a very open game play and lots of area to explore. There are three cities you can explore and to get from one to the other you need to go through the "Wastelands" in your buggy (right) while fighting off enemies. You can also play mini games of racing in your buggy, card battles, and more. The mini games are pretty awesome. You can also pick and choose your missions though the more you do the more upgrades and extras you can get. One of the best things about this game to me is that the AI's are always different! The enemy never comes at you in a straight line, they keep you on your toes by jumping, rolling, climbing, and dodging! It makes the game more exciting and makes a memory of each battle.

In co-op mode you can play with another player to complete nine mini challenges. These challenges are my favorite part! They test your game play to the max and are very hard at some points. The missions can be either a quicker mission or a long one, they are all different and all fun. you go from fighting the typical mutant to guys that spit muddy goo in your face! It is fun and gives you an interesting co-op play. Though I do wish they had more of the co-op mission or additional ones you could download. Like I said there are only 9 missions to do.

You can compete online in Road Rage challenges racing with your buggy against up to 4 online players. This is a different addition to the traditional first person shooter games. And though fun it sucks that this is the only online interactive game play you can do. There is no one on one combat as with other first person shooter game such as Call of Duty or battlefield. It would be nice to be able to play against other humans players online in the mini games and such but, you are able to play co op with others via online in the nine co op missions as well as playing them with someone else in home, however you can only play these with 2 players.

All in all there are both ups and downs to this game, but, I think it is a fun, interesting, unique and overall awesome first person shooter game!! I would definitely recommend it!
